Potted History
The inaugural poetry festival on Woodhouse Moor in 2007 was awash with fantastic performances from Swithun Cooper, storyteller Matthew Bellwood, Flash Fiction, two jam-packed open mic sessions, Sophie Mai Swain, David Ward Maclean, a Slam Battle won by Alabaster de Plume, Tony Walsh, and culminated in a magical, late-night poetry-music collaboration from Siobhan MacMahon and Sabrina Piggott.
2008 brought headliner David Agnew to a keen audience, along with Al Cummins, Andy Craven Griffiths, Raf Attar, Terry Andrew Craven, storyteller Matthew Bellwood plus the Slam Battle, open mic sessions and poetry from the Scribe Collective.
Relocated to Strawbs bar on Otley Road, Barefoot 2009 featured performances from Raf Attar, Matthew Bellwood, Artibella, guitarist Benjamin David, and Al Cummins, as well as the annual Slam Battle, Scribe Collective set and two sizzling open mic sessions.
