Barefoot in the Park 2011 is here!

Barefoot in the Park is a one-day maelstrom of poetry, storytelling, comedy and music – and this time we mean the full power of the storm. But still laid back – we are a friendliest of friendly bunches after all!

Slap bang in the middle of Hyde Park (or Woodhouse Moor to those in the know, next to the Bowls Pavilion) we’ll be soaking up the sun (and it WILL be sunny) to the tune of blissful poetry and heavenly music. You can expect sessions from a host of fantastic performers, like Vahni Capildeo and John Whale, with a very special guest: Radio 4′s Saturday Live regular Kate Fox!

Our hotly contested Slam Battle will also be back, yet again budding MCs will duel to the last word, to claim the title of Barefoot Slam Champion 2011!

After last year’s brilliant turn-out, we are glad to represent our poetry&prose competition, open to all unpublished poems and stories, in collaboration with Stand Magazine and The Cadaverine.
